All registered customers must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal right to use the provided e-mail address for account registration, communications and purchase. Account registration is used to store order history and is not required for purchasing items at this web site. Credit card information is not stored in the user account. Shopping carts are not persistent. Items in your cart will not be saved after logout.
Home Folklore accepts major credit cards and US bank transfer payments. All credit card and bank transfer payments are processed securely through PayPal. County and state sales taxes are included for orders shipped to California.
A PayPal account is required for purchase. After clicking the PayPal Checkout button on the cart page, you will be redirected to the PayPal site. Here you will login to your PayPal account to authorize your purchase. You will then be returned to the Home Folklore Review Order page to confirm your order. Please note: we ship to confirmed PayPal addresses only.
Any questions about the security of PayPal should be directed to PayPal. Home Folklore does not have access to your credit card information at any time before or after checkout. The name “HomeFolklore” will be listed as the vendor on your credit card statement. You are notified of all purchase and credit card activity from PayPal and Home Folklore via separate e-mails.
Shipping and Delivery
We ship to confirmed PayPal addresses only. Orders are usually shipped within 2 business days of payment unless specified otherwise in the item description. Items listed as Special Order are shipped within 1-2 weeks of payment.
Shipping charges for ground shipping are for addresses within the continental US, using the most economical of the three carriers: UPS, USPS or FedEx. Non-continental US addresses are charged air shipping rates. Please contact us if you require expedited shipping.
Shipping charges calculated in the shopping cart may exceed the actual cost of shipping. For example, this will occur if the order is for swatches only. We will refund your PayPal account for any shipping overcharges after the item has shipped. You will also be notified via e-mail of the shipping carrier and tracking number. Please contact Customer Service if you have questions or issues with the cost of shipping and tracking.
Orders over $200 require a signature on delivery.
We want you to be happy with your purchase! If you have received a defective item or the wrong item, please contact Customer Service within 1 week of delivery for a return shipping label. Your order will be credited as described in the Refunds section below.
Most items are returnable. Items marked as Special Order or Special Price are returnable for store credit only.
Items that are NOT returnable are:
- Fabric without defects cut to specific lengths
- Trims without defects cut to specific lengths
- Pillows and Inserts that have been unwrapped from the sealed packaging
- Custom made items
Colors and textures as represented in the photographs of items on our web site may not be the same as the actual shipped item. If specific color and quality information is required, we suggest that you order swatches! This might delay your order for a few days but unless you are completely familiar with the item, it is the safest way to be sure your purchase will be what you are expecting. Items eligible for swatches will have an option for ordering the swatch on the item description page. Swatches are shipped First-Class Mail.
How To Return an Item
If you are dissatisfied with a returnable item, please e-mail Customer Service within 1 week of delivery to obtain a return authorization number and a return shipping label. Home Folklore will not credit any items returned without using our provided return shipping label. The cost for your return will be calculated by weight using the same carrier that delivered the order. USPS returns can be dropped in your mailbox or at any post office, picked up by arrangement with USPS, or handed to a driver. UPS and FedEx can be dropped off at a pickup location or handed to a driver.
After we receive your returned items in their original condition and packaging (if any), Home Folklore will issue a refund. PayPal purchases are refunded back to the original purchase method. Defective goods and incorrectly shipped items are refunded for the cost of the item as well as any tax, shipping and handling fees. Non-defective goods are refunded for the cost of the item and any sales tax, less the cost of return shipping. Special order or special price items receive store credit for the cost of the item plus sales tax, less the cost of return shipping. Original shipping and handling charges for non-defective, special order and special price returns are not refundable.
If you need to cancel your order, please contact Customer Service as soon as possible. If the order has not been processed (items have not been cut to length, order has not been assigned a tracking number), you will receive a refund for the purchase of stock items and store credit for special order items. Any tax, shipping and handling charges will be credited as well. However, if the order has been processed, you may refuse the box when it is delivered. After we receive the shipment back, we will issue a refund as described above for the purchase price and any tax. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable.
Home Folklore guarantees that all our items are free of defects in workmanship and materials for 30 days after delivery. We will replace, repair or refund at our discretion and expense any item that does not function as intended during this period. Custom made and special order items can be repaired for up to six months after delivery for the cost of shipping. Contact Customer Service to arrange for this service.
